Our approach to systems design means that our code is simple, consistently constructed using proven design methodologies, and broken into logical modular components wherever possible. FAR POINT uses TLIB(tm) Version Control for Windows and MicroSoft Visual SourceSafe software to maintain a library of source code modules which must be checked out and checked back in again when modifications are made. The software also keeps track of previous versions of software modules so that it is possible to retrieve older versions of the application for comparison purposes or fault analysis. The use of this library management utility coupled with internal training and procedures prevents the problem of regression found in many software development groups, especially where multiple programmers are working on the same application.
